About Me

After many trials and tribulations, I decided to start a career as an artist, joining the art collective of San Patricio Art Center in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Collaborations with multiple communities in Puerto Rico help me realize the subjects I indulge in my paintings. Displaced by a natural disaster, as a climate refugee, I embarked my way to a new beginning, which led me to San Francisco. Being introduced to the local queer community and Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, with some playful activism, winning the San Francisco 2018 Hunky Jesus contest as "Puerto Rico Refugee Jesus" connected me with the city's historic queer POC community. Since my displacement, I've been a caregiver with in-home support services and SEIU advocate, lobbying for Spanish-speaking representation in Washington D.C. I create art challenging norms and contributing to underrepresented communities' well-being, something core to my values. A journey that has shaped and evolved, fostering empathy both with others, within myself and my art.

Artist Statement

I center around the human condition, I utilize acrylics, oils, pastels, and charcoal to create art that explores yin empowerment and queerness. My art challenges societal norms and culture’s blatant collective cognitive dissonance with humor. Inspired by the tropical colors, inner psyche and immediate experiences.
